Blend W

Blend W is one of L.J. Peretti's shop blends in the Burley group. Per the maker's own description, it is built by adding only a very small amount of Latakia to an intense cube-cut Burley; this composition, extremely simple on paper, gains a distinct dimension as the Latakia brings out Burley's nutty side.

The company's Burley tradition rests on the hybrid Burley mixtures Robert Peretti developed in the postwar period, and Blend W is one of the unflavored examples of that line. The cube cut gives a slow, cool-burning packing. It is a record aimed at smokers seeking a medium-bodied tobacco where the Burley base is audible and the smoky side is kept measured, rather than a Latakia-heavy English mixture.
