BPC (Burley Plug Cut)

BPC, short for Burley Plug Cut, is the plug-cut Burley blend of L.J. Peretti, which has operated in Boston since 1870. Per the firm's own account, this tobacco is the base leaf on which all its other Burley blends are built; Peretti's Burleys have been a fixed part of the catalog since the 1930s.

The first taste is Burley's nutty character; a measured sweetness soon enters and this balance is maintained down to the bottom of the bowl. Its burning qualities are even, leaving no harshness or sharpness, requiring an average number of relights and leaving little residue.
