Enigma Flake

Enigma Flake is a Peretti flake pressed from select burley leaf. Per the maker's description, it carries a measured bouquet: notes recalling dried plum and tart fruit preserves merge with burley's hazelnut-brown depth to give a mild sweetness.

The sweetness comes more from the leaf itself and the pressing than from any topping. Peretti states that aged, scarce lots of leaf are used in the blend, which keeps production limited. Being a flake, it needs rubbing out or folding before packing; it suits a burley-based smoker looking for a taste close to unadulterated.
