London Flake

London Flake is a Virginia/perique leaf blend among Peretti's pressed tobaccos. Per the maker's description, orange and lemon Virginias form the sweet side of the blend, while perique adds a spicy, sharp counterpoint to that sweetness. Because it is pressed and sliced, it burns slowly; the slices need to be rubbed out or folded before packing.

It follows the typical arc of the Va-Per family: Virginia sugar at the start of the smoke, giving way to plum and pepper notes from the perique as it progresses. It's aimed at smokers who want an unflavored blend and enjoy a fruity-spicy line. Its pressed form makes it well suited to long jar aging.
