Reserve Crue No. 6

Reserve Crue No. 6 is a pressed Peter Heinrichs blend whose base is built from red-spotted Virginia and Carolina leaf, with a small amount of Oriental-origin Havana leaf and medium-strength Kentucky added on top. Per the maker's account, the mixture is cold-pressed for weeks into blocks of about five kilograms; during this process the leaves fuse together, producing a very slow-burning flake.

On the palate, Virginia's dark, dried-fruit-leaning sweetness leads; Kentucky adds a woody, lightly smoky base while Oriental leaf adds dry spice. There is no flavoring, and the body is medium. It suits those who love natural Virginia blends and long, patient smokes.
