Turkish Export (No.84)

Turkish Export is built by blending sun-cured Samsun-type Turkish tobacco with ripe Virginias, and is one of the best-known records of the line Peter Stokkebye established in the 1970s. It carries no flavoring. Sources indicate it is offered in two cuts: a fine ribbon sold in bulk and a fine shag sold in pouches.

On the palate, the Turkish tobacco's spicy, dry, lightly tart taste leads; Virginia stays in the background as a faint sweetness. It burns comfortably and gives plenty of smoke; because of its fine cut, it smokes fast and the bowl is prone to overheating. It is used both by those seeking Oriental taste on its own and by those blending their own mixtures as a base or seasoning leaf.
