Hyde Park

Hyde Park is prepared by pressing and rubbing Virginia and Burley leaf into broken flake. Its flavoring uses a small amount of rum and maple sugar; the aim is not to mask Virginia's natural sweetness and Burley's body but to bring them out.

The body sits between medium and full, and flavor intensity is high. Burley lays down an earthy, nutty base while Virginia adds sugar and a light tartness. It suits smokers who enjoy working with pressed tobacco, who want to avoid heavy aromatics but still like a light flavoring; reportedly its layers become more pronounced with aging.
