Irish Oak

Irish Oak is a ribbon-cut Peterson blend built on a Virginia-Burley base with Perique and Cavendish added, carrying a sherry-wine flavoring. Peterson is an Irish brand; tobacco production is contracted out to manufacturing partners in Europe.

As described in Turkish-language sources, it is a tobacco heavy in nicotine and intense in flavor; further into the bowl, a spicy, tart character from the Perique becomes pronounced. The sherry flavoring isn't intense enough to put the tobacco in the aromatic category. It is a record aimed at experienced smokers who can handle the Perique's assertiveness and high nicotine.
