Nightcap

Nightcap is a classic English blend carried over from the Dunhill era and today continued under the Peterson name. A generous amount of Cyprus Latakia and Oriental leaf sit atop a Virginia base, with a small proportion of Perique added. It is a ribbon cut; under a smoky, earthy main body there is a creamy sweetness from the Virginia and a peppery sharpness from the Perique.

As its name suggests, it is designed for the last pipe of the day: a blend heavy in nicotine that lingers long on the palate. It suits smokers accustomed to heavy Latakia and seeking depth in English blends; it is heavy going for new smokers starting out with aromatic tobacco. The room note is pronounced and needs care indoors.
