Summertime 2018

Summertime 2018 is that year's entry in the limited-production series the Irish brand Peterson releases each summer with a distinct composition. Peterson's pipe tobaccos have since the 2010s been produced in Germany by a blender working on the brand's behalf; the country of origin on the label nonetheless remains Ireland, the brand's home country. The core of the 2018 edition is Brazilian-sourced, light-colored, loose-cut Virginia leaf, joined by black Cavendish, rounded out with a light vanilla-and-caramel-leaning flavoring.

Its character is a light-bodied, sweet-leaning aromatic; nicotine strength is low and the smoke texture is creamy. The Virginia's natural sugar isn't masked by the topping, while the Cavendish adds depth and softness to the body. It suits smokers wanting a light aromatic for long summer sessions and those looking to transition from aromatics toward natural tobaccos. Being a limited production, it was distributed only for that season and then pulled from shelves.
