Anno MMXIV is Planta's 2014 limited edition. A soft, creamy body built from double-fermented black Cavendish, lively Virginia leaf, and cooling white Burley is topped with a sweet casing led by mango and lychee.
The mixture is a typical example of the aromatic class: fruit sweetness stays up front throughout the smoke, while the tobacco's own earthy taste remains in the background. It suits smokers looking for a low-nicotine, sweet, fruity tobacco, as well as newcomers to the pipe. Being an annual edition, it was not reproduced once stock ran out.
