Highland Targe

Highland Targe is a Scottish-style mixture bringing together Virginia, Oriental tobacco, Latakia, and black Cavendish in ribbon cut. It lights easily, gives plenty of smoke, and stays cool throughout the bowl; the ash stays light and doesn't noticeably wet the pipe.

In taste, Virginia's sugary side, the Oriental leaf's fruity-spicy sweetness, and Latakia's smoke form a balanced triangle. In the second half of the bowl the body firms up somewhat, though the coolness doesn't break down. It suits smokers looking for an easy-smoking, all-day mixture with a measured Latakia proportion; smoked quickly it is prone to heating up, so a slow pace is needed.
