Old Gowrie

Old Gowrie is a Rattray blend presented as broken flake, built on a Virginia-heavy base with Kentucky and Perique added. Moisture in the tin runs high; when well aired, or even used near dry, the flavor line becomes pronounced and the smoke cools.

At the blend's center is a clean, plain Virginia sweetness; Kentucky adds weight to the body while Perique stays in the background. It can be counted in the same family as the same maker's Hal O' the Wynd, but offers a noticeably milder smoke than that blend. It suits smokers looking for an unflavored, medium-bodied Virginia flake they can smoke all day.
