Red Rapparee

Red Rapparee is a broken-flake blend where red Virginia leaf is spiced with a generous amount of Oriental tobacco, with only a very small amount of Latakia added. Red Virginia's sugary taste is quickly balanced by the Oriental leaf's sweet-firm spiciness; in the smoke, a deep spice trace reminiscent of cinnamon and orange peel can be distinguished, along with a sharpness recalling black pepper.

Nicotine is above medium. In the first half of the smoke, Latakia stays like a cooling supporting player; toward the end the Oriental leaf comes fully forward and the body firms up. Though usable during the day, its filling structure suits it more to long after-dinner sessions; it is a straightforward choice for smokers looking for spicy English blends.
