Summer Edition 2016 is an installment of the summer series released annually under the Rattray name. The series is prepared by German maker Kohlhase & Kopp in a Danish-style aromatic approach; while the Rattray brand is Scottish in origin, the tobacco is manufactured in Germany. The 2016 edition was presented with a Rio de Janeiro theme, foregrounding passionfruit, cachaça, and caramel flavoring.
The blend is cut as a loose mixture and stays in the light-to-medium nicotine band. Since the flavoring is pronounced, it appeals more to smokers interested in fruity, sweet top notes and a sweet room aroma than to those looking for natural tobacco taste. Being a limited annual edition, it is not currently available on the market.
