Wallace Flake

Wallace Flake is a flake blend made by pressing Virginia leaf ranging in color from golden to chocolate-brown together with sun-cured leaf of Indian origin. After pressing, the slices can be easily rubbed out for packing; it burns slow and cool. A very light plum casing is applied, kept light enough not to overwhelm the blend's natural tobacco character.

Its taste combines Virginia's sweet, faintly tangy structure with the dark leaf's nutty fullness; nicotine is medium. Reports indicate the blend continues under a new name after the production rights to Rattray's previously released University Flake changed hands. It suits smokers used to flake cuts and medium-bodied Virginia character who want an unflavored or very lightly flavored blend.
