Steelcap

Steelcap is a traditional Scottish-style mixture in which Latakia builds the smoky backbone while aged red Virginia adds depth and natural sweetness. Izmir Oriental brings dry spice and complexity, and black Cavendish along with a touch of Burley supply body and smoothness. It is a ribbon cut; reports note it burns dry, leaves no residue in the bowl, and requires few relights.

Though full-bodied, its structure isn't scattered; it suits people used to Latakia-heavy blends looking for an unflavored, smoky smoke. It is named after the steel cap worn by border reivers. Since Reiver Pipes & Tobacco is a small-scale blender, production is done in batches.
