Pazar tobacco is a domestic tobacco grown around the Pazar district of Rize in the Eastern Black Sea region. It traces back to a Wisconsin cigar-leaf seed variety, but the region's ecological conditions along with the curing, fermentation, and processing methods applied have shaped the leaf into a distinctive form. The leaves are large and elliptical, with a broad base; some reach 40-60 centimeters. Colors range from light brown to dark brown.

The leaf texture is thin, flexible, and durable; the midrib is thick while the side veins are fine and sparse, meeting the midrib at close to a 90-degree angle. These physical traits make the leaf suitable for both cigar filler and wrapper use. Its physiological effect when smoked is firm, and it carries an aroma characteristic of cigar tobaccos. Burn quality is medium, and the ash is light gray. Its chemical composition shows nicotine content of about 1-2 percent, protein nitrogen 1.5-3 percent, and total reducing substances around 3.5 percent. It is a reference point for anyone interested in cigar rolling and looking for a domestic leaf.
