Tree Mixture

Tree Mixture is a medium-bodied English blend weighted toward Oriental tobaccos, with a small amount of Latakia and a touch of black Cavendish and Virginia added. Sources also note the blend was produced from a Virginia-and-Latakia-containing cake and then broken into flake; the retail presentation is a fine ribbon cut. No flavoring is applied.

Reports indicate the mixture was originally prepared exclusively for a Robert Lewis customer named Colonel Tree, and was sold only to him for roughly fifty years before going on general sale at the end of the 20th century. In the smoke, the Oriental leaf's gentle spice comes forward, Latakia builds a smoky ground, and Cavendish rounds off the sweetness. It offers a cool, rich smoke. It suits fans of classic, Oriental-forward English blends.
