Mature

Mature is a blend in which matured dark Virginia leaves are combined with Greek- and Turkish-origin Oriental tobaccos, pressed and crumbled into broken flake form. Per the producer's description, the leaf selection is shared with the Special London Mature line; a very fine casing in the direction of cocoa and anise is applied on top. On opening the tin, a dark-brown, nearly black appearance and a lightly fruity, grassy scent greet you; the cut often gives a ready-rubbed impression.

The casing does not come to the fore on the smoke; the blend largely reads as an unflavored Virginia. The flavor settles after the first quarter; the smoke is intense, satisfying, and above-medium in nicotine. It is on record that the flavor deepens when rested in a jar.
