Oriental Turkish Blend

Oriental Turkish Blend is considered one of Robert McConnell's oldest recipes; according to records it was first prepared in the early 1800s. The blend's weight is made up of light-colored Oriental leaves of Turkish, Syrian, and Cyprus origin. Small leaves from Macedonia and the Levant hills are rested together with Carolina bright leaf and Virginia's Red Old Belt leaves for a week so the flavors merge, then Carolina black cavendish is added and the mixture is stored loosely.

The result is a spicy, dry-hay, lightly sour taste; the cavendish builds a small but sweet foundation. Nicotine is medium, flavor intensity high. A suitable example for those wanting to get to know Oriental-leaf-centered blends that don't contain Latakia.
