Red Virginia

As its name suggests, Red Virginia is a ribbon-cut blend built on red Virginia leaf with a small amount of Perique added. Its suitable moisture level and fine cut let it light easily; it is light enough to smoke in any pipe size at any time of day.

On the flavor side there is tart red fruit, particularly a note reminiscent of lightly cooked strawberry jam, with an occasional chocolatey sweetness. Perique adds a touch of pepper and tang. It does not offer much shift in taste or coolness through the bowl; strength and flavor stay in the mild range. The ash is light-colored and clean. It suits smokers looking for a mild, low-nicotine, fruity Virginia.
