Chocolate Flake

Chocolate Flake is one of Samuel Gawith's Virginia-forward flakes; burley and a small amount of latakia also feature in the blend, with a chocolate casing applied on top. As with other SG flakes, tin moisture is high; airing before smoking directly affects ease of lighting and flavor.

The smoke is rich, medium in flavor and nicotine. The chocolate casing is pronounced enough to move ahead of the tobacco's natural taste. Even smoked slowly it can cause moisture buildup at the pipe bottom, so keeping a pipe cleaner on hand is advised. Suited to smokers accustomed to cased flake smoking who seek a chocolate-evoking sweetness.
