Full Virginia Plug

Full Virginia Plug is a tobacco produced at Samuel Gawith's Kendal facility from flame-cured Virginia leaf alone, hot-pressed into a solid plug. The plug is dark brown and gives the smoker broad freedom in preparation: it can be sliced and used like a flake, or crumbled for packing. According to records, the blend shares the same leaf composition and top note with the same producer's Full Virginia Flake; the only difference is that the pressed plug is presented whole.

On the flavor side, dark Virginia's bready sweetness and the depth from pressing come forward; nicotine fullness is pronounced, so it is not a blend for smoking on an empty stomach or fast puffing. Carrying no additives, it is aimed less at smokers seeking flavor than at those wanting to follow pure Virginia character and the slowly unfolding flavor line of pressed tobacco. Since plug moisture can be high, airing it briefly after slicing eases the burn.
