Golden Glow

Golden Glow is one of Samuel Gawith's blends made solely from Virginia leaf, found in the tin as broken flake, meaning crumbled leaf slices. On opening the tin, large leaf pieces and intact flake fragments are seen among bright-yellow shredded pieces; it carries no casing scent, only Virginia's own scent. Since the tobacco is tinned with high moisture, airing before packing noticeably eases the burn.

On the smoke, Virginia's sweetness stays measured; flavor intensity and nicotine fullness are low, with no hardening or sharpening seen across the bowl, and the ash stays light-colored and mild. In this respect it is a Virginia suited to the day's first bowls or long, undemanding smokes; it may read as limited to smokers seeking a dark, full Virginia character or expecting higher nicotine.
