Brunello Flake

Brunello Flake is Savinelli's Virginia-based pressed blend. Sweet virginias are joined by burley and some Macedonian Oriental; the leaves are rested together before being pressed into flake so the flavors merge. Sold in 100-gram tins; the flakes are thick, even, and easily crumbled.

The smoke opens with virginia's honeyed, lightly sour sweetness; the Oriental's spicy tone shows itself now and then, and the burley adds an oily body and a slow burn. The tin note brings out chestnut-brown spice and cooked-fruit notes. It can also be packed in ribbon form by crumbling. Suited to smokers seeking an unflavored or lightly flavored, medium-strength daily flake.
