Burrus Bleu

Burrus Bleu is the most common of the three Burrus pipe tobaccos originating from the Burrus tobacco house in Switzerland's Jura region. The brand is now under Scandinavian Tobacco Group and the product is made in Denmark for the Swiss market. The blend is entirely burley leaf: part air-cured, part sun-cured, then given a light fermentation.

It contains no flavor casing whatsoever; the sweetness comes only from curing and fermentation. Its character is built on dry, toasted-walnut, and earthy tones; smoked slowly it leaves a light peppery trace on the tongue. Its fullness is pronounced but not aggressively harsh. Suited to those seeking an unflavored, traditional Continental European burley smoke.
