Five Brothers

Five Brothers is an old, single-blend American brand named after the Finzer brothers who first released the product. Its content is solely air-cured burley; no casing or flavoring is applied, and the leaf is cut fine enough to resemble cigarette tobacco, in a shag cut. It is sold in small tins.

The blend's defining trait is its nicotine load; according to records, this plain burley, once the everyday tobacco of American smokers a few generations back, is considered very strong by today's standards. Because of the fine cut it burns fast, so moistening it and half-filling small pipes is a common approach. Suited to experienced smokers seeking unflavored, straight, high-nicotine burley; not for those accustomed to mild blends.
