Mick McQuaid is, according to records, a traditional blend released decades ago by P. J. Carroll & Company of Dundalk, Ireland. It is built on Virginia leaf pressed into a plug. Production later passed to Scandinavian Tobacco Group.
Pressing and aging deepen the blend's sugars; the taste oscillates between sour fruit and a dark, toasted foundation. It is not light on nicotine. Suited to those wanting to get to know the old-style Irish and English pressed-Virginia tradition.
