Sir Walter Raleigh, released in 1927, is a burley-forward blend counted among the classics of American shelf pipe tobaccos. The crosscut leaf brings out burley's inherent cocoa and nut tones; a light casing applied to the blend adds a fine sweetness in the direction of anise and molasses. Nicotine is medium, giving a mild, cool smoke on the palate.
