Bestoval

Bestoval is an American-tradition plug tobacco sold by the Chicago-based Schermerhorn Cigar Stores. It is made by pressing white burley leaf and breaking it into cubes; it is described on packaging as a "crushed plug." Casing level is low, the taste largely relying on burley's own nutty, dry character.

The cube cut burns slowly and cool, and is easy to pack; nicotine is at medium level. Suited to those seeking a plain, dry American smoke without aromatic flavoring. The brand was later transferred to Swisher, and its pipe-tobacco line was discontinued; today Bestoval is seen only in the collector market via old tins.
