Mayor 1814 Flake

Mayor 1814 Flake is the Sillem's series' entry on the straight-Virginia wing, produced by Kohlhase & Kopp. Selected mature Virginia leaves are pressed for a long time to form a flake; the tin holds thin slices stuck to one another.

On the smoke, the citrusy, herbal sweetness of light Virginia leads; a fine honey-and-orange-like casing rounds off this base, though the blend stays measured enough not to be called aromatic. Smoked slowly and cool, it gives a balanced, full flavor; nicotine is in the medium range. Suited to those interested in straight Virginia flakes and accustomed to rubbing and airing tobacco.
