Berkshire

Berkshire, part of Sutliff's Private Stock line, is an unflavored English blend. It takes its name from England's county of Berkshire and represents the line's English-style wing. Its composition includes latakia, oriental, Virginia, and perique; the addition of perique is a detail that departs from the classic latakia-oriental-Virginia trio.

On the palate, Virginia's sweetness, latakia's smoky woody weight, and the orientals' spicy sharpness interlock in a balanced way; perique adds a plummy, peppery edge to this sweet-spicy axis. It's light-to-medium in strength and offers an unfussy, straightforward English character. Suited to those newly transitioning into latakia blends and to those wanting a non-heavy English blend for daily smoking. It is no longer in production.
