Sutliff's Count Pulaski takes its name from Kazimierz Pulaski, the Polish soldier who organized cavalry units during the American Revolutionary War; the tin text references Benjamin Franklin's letter recommending Pulaski and his role at the Battle of Brandywine. The blend itself is not a single piece: per the maker's description, it's a combination of four separate sub-blends.
The composition brings together burley in shag, plug, and cube-cut forms along with Carolina flake, Virginia, and latakia; over this base, an essence of select Syrian latakia along with rum and anise flavoring is applied. The result is a layered blend with high fullness due to its burley-forward body, where latakia's smoke and spiced sweetness intertwine. Aimed at experienced smokers seeking an unusual, intense structure that combines different cuts.
