Court of St. James is an unflavored blend in Sutliff's Private Stock line. Louisiana perique is added to a broken-flake, long-ribbon Virginia base, with a small amount of latakia sprinkled on top. Though latakia's scent is noticeable on opening the tin, its share on the palate stays limited; the blend carries a primarily Virginia-perique character.
The Virginias are full, herbal, and earthy; perique is peppery and sweet. The cut packs easily into the bowl and requires few relights. Suited to smokers who enjoy unflavored blends and want a subtle smoky touch within a Virginia-perique frame.
