Cringle Flake (2022)

Cringle Flake is Sutliff's seasonal series released specifically for the holiday period; the 2022 edition is the fourth entry in the series. The blend is built from partly fire-cured 21-year-old red Virginia and 19-year-old perique. The flame-cured leaf undergoes a secondary fermentation via an hour of steaming before being combined with the perique, then pressed and cut into flake.

Per the maker's description, the result is a layered profile carrying spicy, sharp undertones alongside natural sweetness; stone fruit, earthy spice, and molasses are the leading flavor notes. The tin includes "To / From" fields for gifting. Being a limited edition tied to a specific year, it is not in current production; it appeals to those wanting to sample the aged Virginia-perique structure.
