Whiskey Cavendish #11 is a whisky-top-note blend among Sutliff's bulk aromatics. Its base is built from soft Burley, sweet-tart Virginia, and roasted-then-steamed Green River Burley; this last leaf goes through the Cavendish process, giving the blend a dark color and a rounded sweetness. A bourbon-character whisky flavoring is applied on top.
The aroma is intense straight from the pack, but what carries through to the taste is more measured; oak and grain notes intertwine with the tobacco's nutty base. Nicotine is light to medium. Records indicate the blend was previously sold as Dutch Masters Whiskey Cavendish, and before that as Old Grand Dad Whiskey Cavendish. It suits smokers who like alcohol-themed top notes and want an aromatic that isn't overly sugary.
