Ambleside Curly

Ambleside Curly is a Kendal-style Virginia-Perique blend produced for the Synjeco pipe shop in Zurich, Switzerland. In the Kendal tradition, tobacco is first formed into a rope; the product called curly cut is that same rope sliced into thin, coin-like discs. Sources note that the rope and curly versions are the same blend, differing only in cut.

The profile is dark and intense: dried-fruit and tart sweetness from the Virginia meet the peppery spice of the Perique. Because of the rope structure, nicotine is high; the discs need rubbing out and thorough drying, and are best smoked slowly in small pipes. It is a product for experienced smokers used to strong Virginia-Perique blends.
