The Eagle is Tabac Benden's blend bringing the intensely floral-essenced tobacco tradition specific to England's Lakeland region to the German market. A base of ready-rubbed flake made from fully matured Virginias is joined by a spicy measure of Burley and a very small share of Kentucky.
The Lakeland essence is the blend's most defining feature: a floral layer reminiscent of rose, lavender, and soap sits over the Virginia's bready sweetness. The body is medium, with Kentucky giving a light smokiness from behind. It suits smokers who know or are curious about the Lakeland style; for those unfamiliar with this essence it can feel overpowering, and rotating it with another blend in the same pipe is difficult.
