Moassel Saloum is a molasses-worked shisha tobacco (mu'assel) made by Eastern Company S.A.E., Egypt's largest tobacco producer. The product is usually sold in 250-gram packs and is noted as one of the most widespread mu'assel brands in Egypt.
It is counted among the classic, non-fruit-flavored type: here the molasses functions more as a binder keeping the leaf moist and cohesive than as a sweetener, so the tobacco's own taste comes forward. It is not in the same category as pipe blends; it is aimed at those smoking shisha and after an unflavored mu'assel.
