Sweet Galenas

Sweet Galenas is a house blend from The Story Teller's Pipe Shop referencing Tolkien's Middle-earth. Its name comes from galenas, the word hobbits use for "pipeweed." According to the maker, the blend was developed to recreate the taste of the discontinued Tewksbury Hobbit's Weed, but in a more balanced form with reduced risk of tongue bite. Its composition includes sweet black Cavendish, Burley and Virginia; it is cased with a flavoring carrying vanilla, cherry, cocoa and liqueur notes and sold ribbon cut.

Strength and flavor are light to medium, making it suited to long sittings and daytime smoking. The casing is distinctly upfront; it is aimed at smokers after a profile driven by the flavoring rather than the tobacco itself, those new to the pipe, or anyone wanting to leave a sweet scent for people nearby. Sold loose by the ounce.
