Redwood

Redwood is a ribbon-cut blend in the Virginia-Perique wing of the Two Friends line. Toasted and untoasted red Virginia grades are layered together; pure St. James Parish Perique is added for spice, with a small amount of unsweetened black Cavendish to gather the body.

The Virginia leaf's natural sugar sets the blend's base, and the Perique layers a sharp, plummy, peppery edge on top of that sweetness. As no casing is used, the taste comes entirely from the leaf itself; nicotine sits in the medium range while flavor intensity is high. A fitting structure for smokers wanting to get to know the Virginia-Perique family, or after unflavored, spicy sweetness.
