Barsdorf's Käpt'n Bester Cherry

Käpt'n Barsdorf's Bester is Von Eicken's long-running pipe tobacco line in Germany, drawing on the Lübeck-based company's nearly two-and-a-half centuries of blending history. The Cherry version of the series is prepared by casing a base of sun-cured Virginia leaf and dark Cavendish toward cherry.

The cherry note is pronounced throughout the smoke; the Cavendish lays a soft, sugary base beneath it, while the Virginia leaves a light acidic edge that keeps it from becoming too heavy. Nicotine is low and flavor intensity is moderate. A record aimed at those new to aromatic tobaccos or after fruity scents.
