Black & Gold Mixture is one of Von Eicken's now-discontinued Latakia mixtures. The black, gold and brown-toned leaf is cut extremely fine, almost fine enough to resemble cigarette tobacco.
On the smoke, Cyprus Latakia lays down a woody, earthy, lightly sweet layer of smoke, set against grassy, citrusy light Virginia. Neither leaf group overtakes the other. Nicotine is medium, and due to the fine cut the bowl tends to burn quickly. A record that appeals to fans of classic English mixtures and today can only be found in old stock.
