Three Stars

Three Stars is a German aromatic from Joh. von Eicken, described as made from hand-blended tobaccos produced for many years. Its presentation differs from the usual ribbon cut: dark brown, tightly pressed discs sit alongside lighter-toned, thick-cut strips; this twisted-and-sliced structure resembles the curly cut tobaccos of Escudo or Gawith & Hoggarth.

In the smoke, Burley's nutty, earthy, molasses-reminiscent sweetness appears lightly ahead of the Virginias; a fruity sweetness typical of the German aromatic tradition layers on top, forming the blend's character. Nicotine sits at a medium level, and despite being aromatic, the leaf taste can still be traced. Since the discs need to be rubbed out, preparation takes more time than with ribbon-cut tobaccos. The blend is not currently in production.
