150th Anniversary

150th Anniversary is a limited release prepared for the 150th year of the W.Ø. Larsen name, founded in Copenhagen in 1864. The brand's shop is no longer open today, but its tobaccos have continued to be produced in a line carrying on the Danish pipe tobacco tradition. The blend is built from orange Virginia, mature dark Virginia, fire-cured Kentucky, and long-aged soft black cavendish leaves.

While the bronze-to-brown Virginias leave a sweet, tart foundation, the dark-fired Kentucky adds a smoky, earthy body to the blend; black cavendish softens that body. Warm vanilla, ripe plum, and nougat notes added on top pull the blend toward the aromatic side, but don't entirely mask the leaf's own taste. It's medium in nicotine. This is a release aimed at smokers seeking fuller blends where aromatic sweetness and Kentucky smoke coexist.
