No. 15 Balkan Mix is a shop blend Bennington Tobacconist developed with the legendary Balkan Sobranie White Label as its model. Per the company's history, founder William E. Bennington spent an evening dividing a 230-gram batch into Turkish, Latakia, and Virginia components with tweezers and a scale, working out the ratio this way.
The blend uses a high proportion of Turkish Yenidje leaf, accompanied by heat-cured golden Virginia and Cyprus Latakia. The maker states the mixture is free of artificial flavoring. The result is a medium-bodied Balkan type where Latakia doesn't leap forward, and the Orientals' smoky, resinous character is what defines it. It suits smokers looking for the classic Balkan line.
