No. 24 Baffra

No. 24 Baffra is one of the longest-lived among Bennington's numbered shop blends kept since 1965. At its base, Kentucky white Burley is hand-combined with a darker, cube-cut Georgia Burley; a small amount of Cyprus Latakia and St. James Perique is sprinkled in, and finally one hundred percent Old Belt Virginia is added.

The Burley-heavy structure gives the blend a dry, nutty, earthy base; Latakia and Perique stay only at the edges, not dominant enough to turn the mixture into an English type. This opens a middle ground for smokers accustomed to both Latakia mixtures and aromatics. The presence of cube-cut Burley slows the burn, allowing for long smokes.
