Directory of Croatian Pipe Brands

Directory of Croatian Pipe Brands gathers, in alphabetical order, pipe names founded in Croatia or run by Croatian makers. Both names on record are not factories but small workshops run at a single maker's bench. The materials used are not limited to briar; olive wood and oak darkened over centuries in bogs also make it onto the bench. The entries below summarize only what has been documented.

Brands

• Dotter — The brand name comes from the DOTTER stamp found on the pipes; behind the stamp is a bench in the town of Samobor, near Zagreb. The bench's owner, Domagoj Telišman, began making pipes in 2006, and rather than joining a workshop to learn the craft, relied on writings found online, advice from maker forums, and correspondence with more senior makers, counting his own mistakes as part of that learning path. He began using the stamp only after setting aside and completing his first thirty pipes. Alongside briar, the bench also works olive wood and morta. Dotter does not apply grading: one pipe is not distinguished from another by a quality tier, and each piece carries only the maker's name. His close circle in Croatian pipe clubs is among the known users of pipes coming off the bench.

• MPIPES — The brand of Marinko Neralić. The maker was born in Croatia, lives in the country, and states that he pursues pipe making as a professional occupation. The records go no further than these three points: there is no verifiable information on the workshop's founding year, the town where it is located, its preferred materials, or its annual production scale.
