A small-scale pipe business, founded in Wales by a family with roots in the East African meerschaum trade, that worked Somali-sourced block meerschaum.
Longchamp
A French brand Jean Cassegrain founded in Paris in 1948, known for pipes with bowls and shanks covered in leather. Pipe production was abandoned in the late 1970s, while the company continued in leather goods.
Lord Davenport Pipes
An American pipe brand from the late 1930s built on the patents of Henry Davenport Bellin, registered in Rhode Island and marketed through New York. Known for its removable, cleanable mechanical stem.
Lorenzetti
A workshop founded by Otello Lorenzetti in 1934 in the Italian town of Recanati with a few rented lathes, which grew across later generations into a family business producing tens of thousands of pipes a year and exporting to many countries. Records indicate production has since ended.
